Progress is still continuing at a great rate of knots at Hidden Valley's Facilities Upgrade. Pictures taken recently show the new concrete safety barriers are continuing to be installed and test track surfacing will commence mid next week.

Over 250m of the right hand barrier has now been completed with a further 700m of footings now installed. The right hand wall is approximately 1000mm in height and is a vertical barrier to ensure it conforms to both ANDRA and CAMS specifications.

The walls include duel cutouts at the start line and down track to allow future relocation of the start line if needed.

With large easy access to timing sensor locations it should provide simple ongoing management in the future.

Cabling conduit has been run for the length of the racing surface and purpose designed cutouts are located at each sensor location. This design will allow simple access to cabling termination (which will be hidden by stainless covers) and faster connnect/disconnect of timing sensors.

The first 30m of the left hand wall has been completed in the more traditional shape. The left hand wall starts at 770mm high and then increases to approximately 1000mm at the 1000 foot mark in line with ANDRA standards. The first 150m of footing has also been installed.

With over 280m of wall being installed each week the project is tracking well for completion in late October.

The first signs of the future burnout pad have also started to emerge with the planned site being levelled and filled directly in front of the spectator mound.
